Safety & Responsibility
Safety & Organizer Responsibility
TourCue is a navigation and communication tool. It does not plan, sanction, or operate road events. This page explains the responsibilities of organizers and participants when using TourCue.
Important: TourCue is a navigation aid only. It does not replace road signs, traffic laws, or the judgment of the driver. Always obey posted signs and actual road conditions — regardless of what TourCue displays.
TourCue is a tool, not an organizer
TourCue provides software that helps event organizers plan routes, share them with participants, and communicate during an event. TourCue does not plan, sanction, insure, or operate any road event. The organizer is solely responsible for the design and execution of their event.
TourCue does not verify that routes are safe, legal, or appropriate for any particular vehicle or driver. The organizer is responsible for ensuring their route is suitable for the participants in their event.
Organizer responsibilities
By using TourCue to organize an event, you agree to the following responsibilities:
- Route safety: You are responsible for verifying that your route is safe, legal, and appropriate for the vehicles and drivers in your event. TourCue does not review or approve routes.
- Participant communication: You are responsible for communicating all event rules, safety expectations, and emergency procedures to your participants before the event begins.
- Legal compliance: You are responsible for ensuring your event complies with all applicable laws, including any permits, insurance requirements, or road use regulations in your jurisdiction.
- Emergency planning: You are responsible for having an emergency plan in place, including how to contact participants, how to handle a breakdown or accident, and how to cancel or modify the route if conditions change.
- Participant eligibility: You are responsible for ensuring that all participants are licensed, insured, and capable of safely operating their vehicle on your route.
TourCue’s broadcast messaging feature is designed to help you communicate with participants during the event. It is not a substitute for pre-event safety briefings or emergency services. In an emergency, always contact 911 first.
Driver responsibilities
By joining a TourCue event as a driver, you acknowledge the following:
- You are responsible for your own safety and the safety of others on the road at all times.
- Obey all traffic laws and road signs. TourCue navigation is a guide — it does not override posted speed limits, traffic signals, or road closures.
- Do not interact with your phone while driving. Mount your phone before the event starts. If you need to interact with TourCue, pull over safely first.
- Maintain a safe following distance from the vehicle ahead at all times, regardless of convoy pace.
- If you miss a turn, do not make unsafe maneuvers to recover. Find a safe place to stop, use the Get Me There feature, or contact the organizer.
Speed display
The TourCue driver app displays your current speed and the posted speed limit for informational purposes. The speed limit shown is sourced from map data and may not always reflect temporary speed limits, construction zones, or recent changes.
Always obey posted speed limit signs. The speed display in TourCue is a reference tool only — it does not replace posted signs and should not be relied upon as the authoritative speed limit for any road.
Off-route detection
TourCue includes off-route detection that alerts drivers when they stray from the planned route. This feature is designed to help drivers recognize when they have left the route — it is not a guarantee that the driver will be safely returned to the route.
The Get Me There feature opens the driver’s native Maps app (Apple Maps on iPhone, Google Maps on Android) with directions to the next stop. This route is generated by the phone’s mapping service and may not account for road conditions, vehicle type, or event-specific constraints. Use it as a guide, not a guarantee.
Limitation of liability
TourCue and Ascent Information Management are not liable for any injury, property damage, or loss arising from the use of TourCue in connection with any road event. By using TourCue, organizers and participants accept full responsibility for their own safety and the safety of others.
For full terms, see the Terms of Service and Platform Fee Agreement.
